Instagram, one of the most popular social media platforms, continually adds new features to improve the user experience. One such feature is the ability to add music to Instagram stories.
This feature can make your stories more engaging and expressive. Below, we’ll guide you through a step-by-step process of how to use this feature.
Step 1: Open Instagram and Select Your Story
Start by opening your Instagram app. Tap on your profile picture in the top-left corner of your screen to start a new story.
Step 2: Choose a Picture or Video for Your Story
You can choose to capture a new picture/video by pressing the white button at the bottom center of the screen. Alternatively, you can select a previously captured image or video from your gallery by clicking on the small square in the bottom-left corner.
Step 3: Add Music to Your Story
Once you have your picture or video, swipe up to access the Instagram stickers or tap on the square face icon on the top of the screen. Look for and select the music sticker. This will open up the Instagram music library.
Step 4: Search and Select Your Song
In the search bar at the top of the screen, you can search for your desired song by either the song title or the artist’s name. Once you find the song, tap on it to select. You can also scroll through the popular music or mood categories to discover songs.
Step 5: Choose the Part of the Song
Instagram will automatically select a part of the song for your story. However, you can choose a specific part of the song by dragging the white box along the timeline. You can also choose how long you want the song clip to play, up to a maximum of 15 seconds.
Step 6: Add the Music Sticker to Your Story
After selecting the song portion, click “Done.” This will return you to your story with a music sticker. You can then move and resize this sticker however you wish. You can also tap on the sticker to change its appearance.
Step 7: Share Your Story
Finally, once you’re happy with how your story looks, tap on “Your Story” at the bottom left of the screen to share your musical story with your followers.
