SMFEST Event Terms and Conditions

By participating in SMFEST as a participant, speaker, vendor, or volunteer, you agree to the following terms and conditions:

1. General Conditions for All Participants

1.1. Admission: Entry to the event is by registration only. SMFEST reserves the right to deny entry or participation to anyone who fails to adhere to event guidelines or who breaches these terms.
1.2. Code of Conduct: All attendees must conduct themselves in a respectful, professional manner, refraining from any behavior that could cause harm, offense, or discomfort to others.
1.3. Liability: SMFEST, its organizers, and sponsors are not liable for any personal injuries, loss of property, or damages occurring during the event.
1.4. Media Release: By attending, you consent to being photographed, filmed, or recorded by the SMFEST team for promotional purposes, including on social media, websites, or other marketing channels.
1.5. Intellectual Property: All content presented at SMFEST, including speaker materials, is the intellectual property of the speaker and SMFEST. Unauthorized use, reproduction, or distribution is prohibited.

2. For Participants

2.1. Registration: Participants are required to register for the event in advance. Registration is non-refundable unless the event is canceled.
2.2. Behavior: Disruptive or inappropriate behavior may result in removal from the event without refund.


3. For Speakers

3.1. Content Ownership: Speakers retain ownership of their presentation materials but grant SMFEST a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to distribute event recordings or excerpts for promotional purposes.
3.2. Responsibility: Speakers are responsible for ensuring that their content does not infringe on any intellectual property rights and does not include defamatory or harmful material.
3.3. Cancellation: If a speaker needs to cancel their participation, they must notify the SMFEST team at least 10 days before the event.


4. For Vendors

4.1. Booth Setup: Vendors are responsible for setting up their stalls and ensuring that they adhere to the event guidelines, including safety and branding regulations.
4.2. Sales and Promotions: All sales activities must be conducted within designated areas. Vendors are responsible for compliance with local tax and sales regulations.
4.3. Liability: SMFEST is not responsible for any loss, damage, or theft of vendor property during the event.


5. For Volunteers

5.1. Commitment: Volunteers are expected to adhere to their assigned roles and schedules. Any inability to fulfill duties must be communicated to the volunteer coordinator as soon as possible.
5.2. Conduct: Volunteers must exhibit professionalism and courtesy at all times. Failure to do so may result in removal from volunteer duties.
5.3. Compensation: Volunteering at SMFEST is unpaid. However, volunteers may receive event merchandise or certificates of appreciation.


6. Event Changes and Cancellations

6.1. Postponement or Cancellation: SMFEST reserves the right to postpone or cancel the event due to unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, participants will be notified promptly.
6.2. Changes to Speakers or Schedule: SMFEST may adjust the event schedule or speaker lineup without prior notice due to emergencies or last-minute changes.


7. Data Protection

7.1. Use of Personal Information: By registering for SMFEST, you consent to the collection and use of your personal information for event-related communications and activities.
7.2. Privacy: SMFEST will not sell or share your personal information with third parties except for purposes directly related to the event.


8. Governing Law

These terms and conditions shall be governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of the state where SMFEST is held.


By attending SMFEST, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms and conditions.
